Osteopathy for your Baby

Birth is often a challenging experience, and many parents are eager to ensure their newborn is thriving in the early weeks and months. Babies face a lot of adjustment as they transition from the womb to the outside world, especially when it comes to feeding and settling into a routine. Osteopathy can offer valuable support during this time. I truly enjoy working with babies, and it's an honor to be part of their journey, helping new families start off on the right foot.

I provide a gentle, thorough assessment of your baby’s overall well-being. Common concerns that bring parents to see me include:

  • Persistent crying

  • Digestive discomfort

  • Difficulty relaxing

  • Sleep disturbances

However, each baby is unique, and I treat a wide variety of issues.

Osteopathy in the cranial field is a safe, gentle, and non-invasive technique. My approach is to encourage your baby’s body to naturally respond and heal itself through treatment.

Please note that it’s not uncommon for babies to be a little unsettled for up to 24 hours following treatment.

Typically, a treatment plan involves 2-4 sessions.

Osteopathy for you

Recovering from childbirth can take time, regardless of how smoothly the delivery went—and even more so if the birth was complicated. Giving birth is a physically demanding experience for every mother, and the recovery process can sometimes be overlooked in the midst of caring for a newborn.

However, the postpartum period is an ideal time to address any residual discomfort, as a woman’s body is often highly responsive in the weeks following labor.

Osteopathy can help you regain your strength and health, making it easier to meet the demands of new motherhood. Osteopathy can help you with:

  • Post-natal check-up to support your well-being

  • Rebalance any strains from pregnancy, birth and handling baby

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Coming home to your body

Also, if you’ve had a long or challenging labor, postnatal treatment can be particularly beneficial. Osteopathy can:

  • Speed up your recovery by helping your body recover from the physical shock of birth

  • Prevent long-term back and pelvic issues

Please note that treatment may leave you feeling a little tired afterward, so I recommend avoiding vigorous exercise for 48 hours following your appointment.

Typically, a treatment plan involves 2-4 sessions.

I love treating Mums and babies, it is a privilege to be able to see new families get off to a good start and help welcome you back to your body.
